Sustainability Trends in 2022
Sustainability Trends in 2022
Sustainability will be the new normal for businesses for the next few years to come. It has brought up some critical fixes in the financial world and will alter how businesses will react to the impact of climate change overall.
Let’s have a look at some major sustainability trends that will shape businesses and society in the future.
1) Renewable Power
Phasing down the use of unabated coal and subsidies for fossil fuels will be adopted by 197 countries. This can be achieved to a very large extent by increasing the use of renewable power in the energy mix. More and more investments by countries will be pumped into wind, solar, biodiesel, and other renewable forms of energies.
2) Adoption of Electric Vehicles
The adoption of electric vehicles will be one of the major consumer sustainability trends of 2022. Although at present it is one of the lesser-known facts, World EV day was first celebrated on 9th September 2020 and it is set to become popular in the years to come.
While India seeks to achieve its vision of 100% electric vehicles by 2030, there will also be a lot of pressure on the industry to source raw materials from more sustainable sources.
3) Awareness and Interests
Mass awareness about Sustainability is on the rise – not only employees, but customers and even job seekers are subjecting the companies to their adoption of sustainable business practices.
4) More Shelf Life For Green Products
Gen Z is more concerned about the environmental challenges that threaten to become bigger every day.
From food to fashion to lifestyle, green products will not only occupy a larger mind space but also larger shelf space. Consumers and Retailers both are consciously making this change.
